Sage Essential Oil  (Salvia officinalis)
Sage Essential Oil has a spicy, herbaceous aroma. It has been recognized for its ability to strengthen the senses and vital centers of the body and to support metabolism. It is helpful for supporting the respiratory, reproductive, nervous, and other body systems.*

Body Systems Affected: Hormonal and Immune systems

Uses: Sage essential oil may help with improving estrogen and progesterone-testosterone balance. It is believed to contain an element that contributes in the secretion of progesterone-testosterone. It also activates the nervous system and adrenal cortex and may help with illnesses related to digestion and liver problems.
It may also be beneficial for acne, arthritis, bacterial infections, mucus catarrh, dandruff, depression, eczema, fibrositis, hair loss, low blood pressure, mental fatigue, metabolism, respiratory problems, rheumatism, skin conditions, sores, sprains. It firms tissue and strengthens the vital centers of the body.
Sage essential oil may also balance the pelvic chakra, where negative emotions from denial and sexual abuse are stored.

French Medicinal Uses: Asthma, chronic bronchitis, sluggish digestion, gingivitis, glandular disorders, lymphatic systems, menopause, menstrual irregularities and night sweats.

Historical Uses: Sage has been used for respiratory infections, menstrual difficulties, digestive complaints, inflammations of the mouth, tongue and throat and to strengthen the senses.

Properties: Anti-bacterial, anti-cancerous, antiseptic, antispasmodic, decongestant, diuretic and disinfectant.
Sage essential oil contains estriol and has estrogen-like properties.

Aromatherapy Effects: Helps to relieve depression, mental fatigue and strain

How to use: Diffuse. Apply to Vita Flex Points and directly on area of concern.

Dietary Supplement Uses: FDA approved for use as a food additive (FA) or flavoring agent (FL). Dilute 1 drop in 2 tsp of honey or dilute in 8 oz. of beverage. Best if avoided by children of all ages.

Safety: Classified by Robert Tisserand as an oral toxin due to thujone content. However other sources indicate that for thujone to be toxic, undiluted oil in excess of 30ml must be ingested in a short period of time.

Therefore use with caution. Best kept away from children. Avoid during pregnancy. Not for use with people with epilepsy. Avoid if dealing with high blood pressure.
