Spearmint Essential Oil (Mentha spicata)
Spearmint Essential Oil has a minty, slightly fruity scent, softer than
peppermint. A rich antioxidant, spearmint helps support the respiratory and
nervous systems and may help open and release emotional blocks leading to a
sense of balance and well-being.*Most essential oils work best when blended
with each other. The right combination will enhance the effects and power of the

Body Systems Affected: Digestive System and
Emotional Balance
Uses: Spearmint essential oil may help with
balancing and increasing the metabolism which may help burn fats and toxins from
the body. It may aid the glandular, nervous and respiratory systems. Spearmint
essential oil is known to help with acne, stimulating the appetite, bad breath,
balance, promoting easier labor in childbirth, constipation, depression,
diarrhea, digestion, dry skin, eczema, fevers, headaches, soothes intestines,
kidney stones, migraines, nausea, sore gums, relaxes stomach muscles, urine
retention, vaginitis, reduces weight and brings about a feeling of well-being.
Spearmint is also known to regulate slow and heavy periods.
French Medicinal Uses: Bronchitis, Candida,
cystitis, hypertension
Historical Uses: Spearmint has been used to
relieve hiccough, colic, nausea, indigestion, flatulence, headaches, sores and
scabs.
Aromatherapy Effects: It's hormone-like
activity may help to open and release emotional blocks to bring about feelings
of balance. It acts as an anti-depressant by relieving mental strain and fatigue
and by lifting one's spirit.
Scent: Minty, slightly fruity, less bright than
peppermint
How to use: Diffuse. Apply to
Vita Flex Points and directly on area of concern.
Dietary Supplement Uses: FDA approved for use
as a food additive (FA) or flavoring agent (FL). Dilute 1 drop in 1 tsp of honey
or dilute in 4 oz. of beverage. Not for children under 6 yrs old. Use with
caution and greater dilution with children 6 yrs and older.
Safety: Use with caution during
pregnancy. Do not use on babies
